NHS treatment

NHS waiting lists

We receive a limited amount of funding from the government for NHS care, so we can only provide NHS treatment to a specific number of patients each year. This means we often see more eligible patients than we have the funding to treat – so if you do qualify for NHS treatment, you may need to join a waiting list before we can fit your braces.

When you reach the top of the waiting list, we’ll contact you to arrange your next appointment. During this visit, we’ll take some clinical records, including models of your teeth, and create a definitive treatment plan. Once your brace has been fitted, you’ll need to come back to see us every six to eight weeks. NHS appointments are available on weekdays between the hours of 9:00am and 3:30pm.

Private braces

If you are not eligible for NHS treatment, we will let you know during your consultation, and carefully explain why. We will also take the time to go through the other options available to you, including self-funded private orthodontic treatment.

There are several advantages to private treatment: there’s no waiting list, appointment times are more flexible, and you can choose more discreet braces such as ceramic brackets, lingual braces and Invisalign.

During your consultation, we will discuss all the braces that are suitable for you, along with their cost, so you will have all the information that you need to make an informed decision.
